Product description:
The New Amsterdam Surf Association Competition Windbreaker in Black is a bold and culturally considered track jacket from the brand's Competition Capsule, bringing the charged visual language of surf contest sponsorship culture to a premium outerwear piece. Made from lightweight 100% nylon ripstop with a stretch jersey mesh lining of 90% polyester and 10% elastane, this windbreaker delivers a soft, breathable and comfortable wear experience that provides reliable wind protection without adding unnecessary bulk. The Competition Capsule draws directly from the Lycras worn during surf competitions, which are traditionally covered in sponsor logos from head to toe. For this release, New Amsterdam sourced the graphics from vintage surfboard shapers, collected via forgotten business cards found on eBay, turning each logo into a final tribute to the craftsmen and shapers who built the foundations of surf culture. The resulting allover composition of vintage-inspired sponsor logos, applied through a mix of screen printing and embroidery, gives this windbreaker a layered and considered visual identity that rewards closer inspection. A full two-way zip closure at the centre front, a high stand collar with ribbed interior and elasticated cuffs and hem complete the functional and considered construction. A back neck label adds a final refined brand finishing detail. A standout everyday outerwear piece that bridges surf heritage, underground culture and the considered streetwear aesthetic that New Amsterdam Surf Association is known for.
