The American sports brand was there from the start and was one of the first brands ever to come out with a real running shoe. You probably can't imagine it, but before this, athletes ran full marathons in leather shoes or even bare feet. So Saucony started specializing in performance shoes early on. In the early 1990s, the brand introduced a GRID system for cushioning. This system has been used in various models over the years. The Saucony Shadow Original is a true classic of the brand. The shoe first came on the market in 1985 as a performance shoe, now the model is also worn by a large number of people as a casual sneaker.
